Pindaya is located 45km away from Kalaw. There’s a lot of beautiful landscape to be taken in when travelling from Kalaw to Pindaya. The latter is famous for its limestone caves as well as temples, Danu Village and pagodas.


Kalaw stands high on the western edge of the Shan Plateau. It is 70 km west of Taungyi. about halfway along the Thazi-Taungyi road. This was a popular hill station in the British days and it is still a peaceful and quiet place. At an altitude of 1320 m it is also pleasantly cool and a good place for hiking amid gnarled pines. bamboo groves and rugged mountain scene.


Taunggyi is situated in the southern Shan State and is the capital town of Shan States. It is 4.712feet above the sea level and has a moderate climate. Also located about 500 kilometers north of Yangon and about 10 kilometers southeast of Mandalay. The capital city of the Shan State. is situated on a high plateau surrounded by high mountains.


The Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda is located in Ywama and is an important religious site in the Shan State. The center shrine in the main hall of Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda houses five small golden Buddha images. The Buddha images have been covered with so many gold leaves that it is impossible to see their original structure.


Indein is one of the small villages of Inle Lake located on the western bank of the lake. A Buddha image has enshrined at a whitewashed stupa, which is on the summit of a hill. Below the stupa around the hill are cluster of hundreds of ancient stupas most are ruins overgrown with bushes. The pagoda hill is quiet and calm. One could feel the pleasant cool breeze with the sweet rings of the bells hanging at the umbrella of the stupa. Mesmerizing view from pagoda hill release the fatigue and refresh everybody who ascend to the peak.


Kakku Pagoda Complex,Taunggyi features a cluster of fantastic ancient monuments and is located in the heart of Shan State. It is mainly a group of thousands of pagodas and temples which were built in the 16th century. This popular tourist attraction in the city attracts a huge number of travelers every year who come to visit the ancient temples and Buddhist Pagodas.


Inle Lake is a freshwater lake located in the Nyaungshwe Township of Taunggyi. Inle Lake is a huge lake (22km long and 10km across) located in Shan State, over 900 meters above sea-level, and it is outrageously beautiful. The strangest thing about Inle is native lake-dwellers, living on “floating islands”. Inle Lake is one of the most significant and productive ecological system supporting an immense variety of plants and animals and yielding great wealth for Myanmar through its occurrence of floating islands and the life style of the natives.
